Meet Eddy!
This beautiful boy has stunning eyes, gorgeous thick black fur and he is particularly proud of his wonderful set of pearly whites. I was delighted to have the opportunity to include them in his portrait.

"Sapphire Surprise"
I couldn’t quite believe what happened just as I put the finishing touches to this vibrant piece.
The most magnificent kingfisher, with its hues of sapphire and emerald, fluttered right across our path as we walked the pups along the river in the morning sunshine.
The title not only captures the mesmerising beauty of the kingfisher but also the joy of our unexpected encounter. It's a reminder that in the midst of our everyday routines, magic sometimes awaits just around the river-bend.

"The Matriarch: Alli"
Alli was the matriarch and Rogue Detection Teams owe much of what they do to what she taught them.
She detected endangered turtles under the surface of the water, she helped unravel the mystery of whether a threatened butterfly species was mating in the wild by locating the places where they fed and she found data in cavities underground with no foreseeable exit point. Her tenacity and skill knew no bounds.
Alli is part of Rogues’ Gallery. This series of original portraits celebrates the lives and legacy of six wonderful conservation detection dogs.

"Mashaba"
Have you ever fulfilled a long-awaited dream?
This leopard portrait was inspired by my first ever safari, fulfilling a dream of 25 years.
We were in the breathtaking landscapes of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve at Londolozi.
Londolozi has a reputation as an epicentre of leopard viewing. Its founder, Dave Varty, talks of the sheer magic or maybe simply a gift from nature of seeing your first ever leopard. We felt that magic too.
There she was, Mashaba, snoozing gracefully in the late afternoon African sunshine on our first ever safari drive.
This is the third in my “Little Big Cats” series of postcard-sized close-up portraits of wild cats.

Infinite Shadows, Singular Light II
This poignant portrait captures the expressive beauty of the gorilla.
Shadow and light symbolise the delicate balance between existence and extinction.
I hope it's a portrait that speaks volumes without uttering a single word.
