Sapphire Surprise

I had just finished this kingfisher when, on a rare bright winter morning, we were walking Rudi and Rocco along the river. The sun was catching the water, everything felt still — and then a flash of sapphire and emerald crossed our path.

 

A kingfisher! 

 

Sudden, brilliant, gone in seconds.

 

That fleeting encounter became "Sapphire Surprise".  And a reminder that in the midst of our everyday routines, magic sometimes waits just around the river bend.
